Faith Promise Partners July 2022 Update

 

Joshua & Emily (Resonate Global Missions)

  • We left the US on June 2 to be deployed in South Korea.  Things are going well with us here in Korea, both Emily and I liked it very much though the flight here is really LONG. (30 hours plus layover)

 

  • Now we have pretty settled down in the life here. Korea is a small but very beautiful and vibrant country with lots of interesting cultural practices, including many honorific addresses in the language and bowing gestures. We were greeted with incredible hospitality from the local churches and Christian schools. We did two English services at the Christian school, and Emily did some Bible story time with the kids. We were introduced to the big Korean church as well as the Chinese church plant, we started to get to know a few people and finally got to meet with the Chinese pastor in the new church plant here. I have attached a photo of our meeting with the Christian school staff, kids, and pastors from the church. 

 

  • Next week Emily will start her teaching in the Christian School, this is the first Christian school the church just started in Changwon city, and I am scheduled to preach in an international church on the monthly basis. We quickly get involved in the ministry here. 

 

  • This week I just got the textbook to start language training myself because the langue school starts in September, but I want to have a head start so I can stay on top of things and be a step ahead when I start school, my supervisor has high expectation and I need to pass level 4 Korean language exam next year. We also need to get our alien registration card so we can finally get our bank, cell phone, and vehicle insurance set up so we can have a 'normal' life.
