Faith Promise Partners June 2022 Update

Christy & Zach Yoder (Wycliffe – Nigeria, W. Africa)

  • Thank God
    • We thank God for directing Zach and several colleagues as they identified who would lead a small cohort of staff joining our Nigerian Missionary Staff program in August-September.
    • Thank God for wisdom and some good practical closure meetings following up the Missions and Bible Translation Consultation including a forum of the Bible translation organizations that met on Wednesday, May 18 and a follow-up meeting Friday, June 3.
    • Thanking God for 10 years of marriage this month (June 29).
  • Please pray:
    • Going
      •  Christy and the girls pray for a good ending to the school year and go on break
      •  Daso has started break and we’re praying this is a fruitful holiday for her
      • Two experienced members of Zach’s director team in the office have left Nigeria this month, along with their spouses and one other colleague. Pray for their families and new ministries in Canada and the UK.
      • We’re going on our first out-of-Jos family holiday to Lagos this month. Praying for rest and joy together.
    • Remaining
      • Please pray for those who are joining our group leadership, that together we trust in God for strength and wisdom in the transition and changing roles. That Zach will have the support he needs.
      •  A group of kids comes to the house every day after school to eat and for academic support. Praying we make the most of these opportunities.
      •  The children’s Bible study at ECWA church is a powerful way to reach our community. Praying for strength for the teachers and unity as we start a new unit about how to use the Bible for personal growth. A training for families is to be held on June 16.

John & Jean VanHemert (International Seafarers Ministry)

  • Please keep the VanHemert family in your prayers at this time. John died on May 26th and Jean is not in good health.  Keep them in your prayers as they travel to Washington for the funeral.

Joshua & Emily (Resonate Global Missions)

  • May the transcendent peace from the Lord be to you and your loved ones. We hope and pray all of you are doing well under His love and care. Please see the attached newsletter.
  • We have exciting news to share with you, tomorrow (June 2) Emily, Annika and I will travel to South Korea to start our 1st 3-year-term in the mission field. We are very grateful the Lord has carried us this far and we certainly will not forget your faithful and generous giving that made this possible.
  • We are eager to learn the new language, get involved in the Chinese/Korean churches, and start teaching in the new Christian School that will start in September. Though we are slightly intimidated by the 30-hour-long travel (including layover) because our little one may 'protest' on the plane. We greatly appreciate your prayers.
  • Once we settle down in Korea, we welcome emails or zoom calls or in whatever way we can connect with you all. Please know that we love to connect with you all.

Andrew & Grace Goyzueta (RUF At Davidson College)

     PRAYER POINTS:

  • That the Lord would send times of refreshing from his own presence upon me and my family.
  • For the Holy Spirit to bring to completion the good work he began in the lives of students this year, and especially at SuCo.
  • For godly wisdom and discernment as I make plans for the upcoming school year (in particular, with regards to Servant Team Retreat, Large Group sermon series, and various events and programming).
  • For the Lord to bless our summer support-raising efforts.
