going through life together
We believe that part of being a Christian is being a Christian together with other people who can show God’s love. Community is hard. It often means going out of your way to form friendships with people who may be different from you. But it’s worth it. We have and encourage a variety of venues for you to form life-giving relationships with others in community.
We like to gather (around food)
It seems like we’ll take almost any excuse to talk around a table of food. We love our potlucks, we have BBQs, we’ll have summer picnics and worship. Each Sunday after our 9:30AM service, we’ll gather around coffee and dessert, after our 5PM service we we share a meal. Eating seems trivial, but the conversations that take place, and the relationships that form are life-changing.
Adult Sunday School
Each Sunday after our morning worship gathering, with coffee and cookies in hand some of us gather to engage with vibrant discussion about interesting topics and teaching. The discussion centers around our lives and some video teaching. We listen to teachers like Tim Keller, Paul David Tripp, and more.
Walk-ins welcomed, come a stranger, leave with friends (or at least good conversation partners) .
Is this all you’re living for? For years, pastor Paul Tripp understood we were “hardwired for forever.” But he didn’t understand that it was more than a valuable insight. It is a practical tool to help us face the disappointment of everyday life. Now he knows, and he...read more
Coffee Break is a community Bible study for women. Join us on Monday mornings in the Youth Building from 10:00am -11:30am for Bible study, fellowship, prayer, and coffee. Nursery provided for young children.
The name “Coffee Break” expresses the relaxed and conversational small group atmosphere. In our Coffee Break group, women discover for themselves and with others what the Bible says and means. The conversations and study guides are appropriate for all levels of Biblical knowledge and faith experience. The purpose of the Friendship program is to nurture the spiritual growth of people with intellectual disabilities in the context of personal and meaningful relationships. Here’s how it works:
- Sessions often start in a large group with singing, sharing, and prayer.
- Next, a Bible lesson is shared. This usually includes group participation, often in drama format.
- This is followed by one-on-one time, where mentors and friends meet to discuss the Bible lesson and pray together. Often this time includes activities related to the Bible study.
- Finally, the group gathers again for social time and a closing prayer or song.
